KBR's National Security Solutions team needs a Backend Developer to provide high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to customers in the intelligence and national security communities, impacting the country's national security by supporting the US Space Force's acquisition of state-of-the-art satellite communications systems.
Requirements
- Expert-level proficiency in Python and .NET for backend service development
- Extensive experience designing scalable and secure REST APIs
- Proficiency in working with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL
- Strong knowledge of containerization using Docker for service deployment
- Experience with microservices architectures and backend performance tuning
- Familiarity with API security, authentication frameworks (OAuth2, JWT), and secure coding practices
- Ability to design backend systems for scalability, reliability, and maintainability

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 15+ years of professional backend development experience in enterprise or mission-critical systems
- Minimal travel requirements
- Experience in building mission-critical or regulated backend systems for government or defense organizations
