Ryder System, Inc. is seeking to solve the problem of designing, developing, and maintaining scalable back-end solutions within a multi-product microservice architecture to support the company's digital transformation initiatives in the logistics and transportation industry.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with AWS and modern DevOps practices
- Proficiency in version control systems, preferably Git
- Experience designing and managing relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL
- Familiarity with document databases like Redis
- Strong knowledge of web development languages such as Ruby on Rails or Typescript
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
- Understanding of agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban
Responsibilities
- Develop, build, and maintain scalable backend solutions within a microservice architecture
- Collaborate effectively with frontend developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless service delivery
- Implement unit and functional tests, providing testing guidance to Quality Assurance teams
- Contribute technical insights and support project or product teams under guidance
- Create training materials and share knowledge with peers across teams
- Maintain and monitor web applications to ensure optimal performance and security
- Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards
Other
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in backend development, including API integration and cloud architecture
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience in the retail, transportation, or supply chain industries (preferred)
