Stellic is seeking a Lead Backend Engineer specializing in Integrations to upgrade data pipelines, build robust data orchestration systems, and enhance API and integration capabilities to support millions of students worldwide.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in API, integrations, backend, or data engineering at scale
- Minimum of 3+ years of specialized experience in data engineering
- Proven track record building and managing APIs, data integrations, and orchestration pipelines
- Deep knowledge of data processing frameworks such as DuckDB, Polars, Pandas, Kafka, Spark
- Proficiency in high-level languages such as Python and frameworks like Dagster, Airflow
- Expertise in SQL database design and optimization, preferably PostgreSQL
- Experience with cloud deployment, especially AWS, and hyperscalers
Responsibilities
- Design and lead the development of scalable backend architectures for enterprise applications
- Build and maintain reliable data orchestration pipelines for large-scale data processing
- Optimize database schemas and queries to handle terabytes of data efficiently
- Manage and improve API and data integration frameworks to support evolving product needs
- Implement robust testing strategies and ensure high software quality standards
- Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards across all systems
- Stay current with emerging technologies and incorporate them into the platform as appropriate
