Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Proven track record of owning and delivering end-to-end software projects
- Expertise in distributed systems and microservices architecture
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Proficiency in server-side programming languages including Golang, Rust, C++, C-Sharp, Java, or Python
- Strong understanding of database design and modeling, particularly with PostgreSQL
- Experience developing RESTful APIs and working with large-scale data pipelines
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain scalable backend microservices that power our platform’s core functionalities
- Collaborate closely with product, hardware, and content teams to define requirements and design innovative features
- Write clean, secure, and testable code with a focus on performance and maintainability
- Deploy and monitor cloud-based backend services, ensuring high availability and reliability
- Design and support big data pipelines to handle and analyze large fitness datasets
- Utilize analytics to understand user behavior and inform data-driven decision-making
- Mentor junior engineers, sharing best practices and technical expertise to foster team growth
Other
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and ArgoCD (preferred)
- Knowledge of additional technologies such as Redis, Kafka, Airflow, and integration with Stripe or OneSignal is a plus
- Interest or experience in the fitness industry is advantageous
- This role can be based in San Francisco, Toronto, or remote within the United States
