Reddit Pro is an initiative to empower brands, publishers, organizations, and professionals to create engaging content for Reddit communities and grow their presence on the platform. The role involves contributing to the technical and product strategy for this new product space, building novel products and features, and empowering businesses with advanced tooling.
Requirements
- 3+ years of coding experience in a production setting writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- 2+ years of industry experience designing large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as but not limited to: Golang, Python, or Java
- Experienced with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, Thrift or gRPC basics, and the ability to design and implement maintainable APIs.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the full development cycle: technical design, development, test, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
- Reviewing code and design docs, giving feedback on product specs and mocks.
- Contribute to standards that improve developer workflows, recommend best practices, and help mentor engineers on the team to grow their technical expertise.
- Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making processes for backend development.
- Design and implement maintainable APIs.
Other
- BS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and keep projects on schedule.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with a track record of mentoring and developing junior engineers.
