Requirements
- Strong foundation in process engineering and unit operations
- Experience in lab and pilot plant experimentation and scale-up
- Experience with separation processes such as distillation and extraction
- Familiarity with early-stage project planning and design
- Understanding of safety and risk fundamentals as applied to process safety
- Experience with root cause analysis of operational incidents
- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and manage risk
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise to ensure the health and advancement of ExxonMobil’s Basestocks, Synthetics and Chemicals Intermediates process and product technologies
- Lead and support key growth projects aligned with priorities of our business partners
- Collaborate with technology, marketing, and manufacturing teams to develop and commercialize new processes and products
- Provide technical expertise across all stages of asset development and operation, including commercialization support
- Lead and contribute to project development from concept selection through commissioning and startup
- Design and execute lab and pilot plant experiments to support program and manufacturing needs
- Translate experimental results into process models for commercial scale-up
Other
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
- Ability to work across disciplines and interface with manufacturing, technology, and business teams
- Strong communication, documentation, and presentation skills
- Location is Houston area (Baytown, TX or Spring, TX)
- Must be willing to work on-site
