OPmobility is looking to solve the technical problem of developing and integrating batteries and electrification systems in global vehicle systems, and is seeking a Battery Engineering Manager to lead this effort at their India Technical Centre in Hinjewadi, Pune.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the operation of energy storage system controllers and hybrid and electric vehicles and their drive train as well as diesel and gasoline internal combustion vehicles
  • Expertise in systems engineering, control and software specification, software validation, complex system integration, and calibration
  • Proficiency in the toolchain related to the managed scope (requirements management, multiphysics simulations, FMEA, ticketing, rapid prototyping, calibration management)
  • Experience with problem-solving techniques
  • Ability to work in an international team, including proficiency in technical English
  • Experience in the automotive industry working on embedded mechatronic systems
  • Ability to manage interpersonal relationships and communicate technical issues to clients

Responsibilities

  • Identify, prioritize system technology for product lines
  • Perform or purchase benchmark on product lines
  • Develop Battery or electrical drive system Technical Specifications for batteries and electric drive components
  • Ensure full traceability between Opmobility C Power system design and associated requirements
  • Analyze all testing results to check the system performance is at the expected level in the system
  • Ensure that development tools are up to date in the team and control their application
  • Ensure that system design is compliant with industrial requirements for prototype & Mass production assembly in Plant

Other

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the R&D sector, including at least two years in a managerial role
  • Professional Master's degree, Research Master's degree, or PhD in electronics, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering
  • Ability to manage team workload and internal processes to maximize operational efficiency
  • Ability to lead suppliers product development performance
  • Ability to develop partnerships with key suppliers to maximize synergies
