The Knot Worldwide is seeking to optimize and manage their business intelligence (BI) stack to ensure seamless and efficient utilization by development teams and end-users, while promoting best practices in data governance and platform usage.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in data platform administration, BI management, or a similar role.
- Proven expertise in administering and optimizing data warehousing solutions, specifically Snowflake.
- Hands-on experience with Preset (or other modern BI visualization tools like Superset, Looker, Tableau).
- Familiarity with data semantic layers, particularly Cube.js, and its integration with data warehouses and BI tools.
- Strong understanding of SQL and data modeling principles.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for automation and data pipeline management is a plus.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Platform Management: Oversee the administration, configuration, and maintenance of our core BI platforms: Snowflake, Cube, and Preset, and MixPanel.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor platform performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize data queries, report generation, and overall system efficiency.
- User Enablement: Work closely with business users to understand their data needs, provide training, and develop documentation to facilitate effective use of BI tools.
- Developer Best Practices: Establish and enforce best practices for data modeling, query optimization, and dashboard development within our BI stack for our development teams.
- Security & Access Control: Manage user access, roles, and permissions across all BI platforms, ensuring data security and compliance.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide expert-level support for BI platform-related issues, working with internal teams and vendors to resolve them promptly.
- Roadmap & Enhancements: Collaborate with data leadership and engineering to contribute to the BI platform roadmap, evaluating new features and tools to enhance our data capabilities.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
- This role is Together@TKWW-eligible and based near our NYC office hub. You’ll be expected to work in the office two days a week as part of our hybrid work model.
