The UCSF Edward and Pearl Fein Memory and Aging Center (MAC) is looking to analyze and interpret large-scale, high-dimensional datasets, encompassing multi-omics data and clinical data to advance the understanding of neurodegenerative diseases and support the development of novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets.
Requirements
- Demonstrated proficiency in statistical analysis, data transformation and linking, data systems programming, and/or data schema design and documentation
- Strong programming skills in R, Python, or similar languages.
- Thorough skills associated with statistical analysis and systems programming.
- Thorough skills in analysis and consultation.
- Research skills at a level to evaluate alternate solutions and develop recommendations.
- Proven track record of success managing and maintaining accurate data in a complex data environment
- Minimum of 2 years of research or clinical data management experience (can be obtained through education)
Responsibilities
- Integrate and analyze datasets from various omics platforms, including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics.
- Develop and apply advanced bioinformatics pipelines and tools for multi-omics data integration and analysis.
- Identify biomarkers and molecular signatures associated with neurodegenerative diseases.
- Utilize statistical and computational methods to query, clean, analyze, and visualize large-scale datasets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage large-scale data for research and clinical applications.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in data science and bioinformatics to continuously improve analytical capabilities.

- Works on research data reporting assignments that are of moderate diversity in scope.
- Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
