Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT) is looking for a Bioinformatics Intern to help develop and optimize Nextflow pipelines for bioinformatics analysis, deploy these pipelines on cloud infrastructure, and analyze and interpret scientific data, including next-generation sequencing data. The goal is to improve the functionality and user experience of their site by gaining insights into how it's being used and to contribute to IDT product development.
Requirements
- Knowledge of Python or related programming languages
- Knowledge of deep learning neural networks, biological systems, and / or biochemistry
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize Nextflow pipelines for bioinformatics analysis
- Deploy pipelines on cloud infrastructure
- Design pipelines to be modular and extensible, enabling seamless integration of secondary analysis modules
- Coding and debugging pipeline components
- Reviewing code
- Exploring new tools and optimizing workflow performance
- Analyze and interpret scientific data (including next generation sequencing data)
Other
- Pursuing BS or MS in any of those areas: Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science or related field (Required)
- MS or Ph.D. degree in Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, or related field (Preferred)
- Communicate results with the Bioinformatics and wet-bench scientific teams
