Johnson & Johnson is looking to solve problems in biologics R&D process chromatography development to innovate across the full spectrum of healthcare solutions and deliver breakthroughs in healthcare.

Requirements

  • Biology, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and related majors are preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative skills is required
  • Experience with process development instrumentation, biochemical characterization, and process development in the biopharmaceutical industry is preferred
  • Knowledge of chromatography methods and protein purification is preferred
  • Experience with data analysis and statistical techniques is preferred
  • Familiarity with laboratory software and instrumentation is preferred
  • Basic understanding of biopharmaceutical industry processes and regulations is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support high-throughput screening of protein chromatography binding conditions and develop digital tools for efficient archiving and processing of screening data.
  • Obtain hands-on experience with process development instrumentation, biochemical characterization, and a basic understanding of process development in the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Be responsible for protein and buffer sample preparation, HTPD work using resin filter plates, chromatography purification using lab-scale AKTA systems, and analytical data processing and compilation.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental results using analytical and statistical techniques.
  • Actively participate in weekly meetings with internal and external collaborators.
  • Participate in technical discussions on design of experiments to fill gaps in knowledge.
  • Maintain a laboratory notebook and other technical documents according to required guidelines.

Other

  • Candidates must be actively enrolled in an accredited University for the duration of a co-op assignment pursuing a Bachelor’s or equivalent experience, Master’s, or PhD degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.8 is required.
  • Completion of Undergraduate Freshmen year at an accredited University is required.
  • Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills are preferred
