Requirements
- Biology, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and related majors are preferred.
- Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative skills is required
- Experience with process development instrumentation, biochemical characterization, and process development in the biopharmaceutical industry is preferred
- Knowledge of chromatography methods and protein purification is preferred
- Experience with data analysis and statistical techniques is preferred
- Familiarity with laboratory software and instrumentation is preferred
- Basic understanding of biopharmaceutical industry processes and regulations is preferred
Responsibilities
- Support high-throughput screening of protein chromatography binding conditions and develop digital tools for efficient archiving and processing of screening data.
- Obtain hands-on experience with process development instrumentation, biochemical characterization, and a basic understanding of process development in the biopharmaceutical industry.
- Be responsible for protein and buffer sample preparation, HTPD work using resin filter plates, chromatography purification using lab-scale AKTA systems, and analytical data processing and compilation.
- Analyze and interpret experimental results using analytical and statistical techniques.
- Actively participate in weekly meetings with internal and external collaborators.
- Participate in technical discussions on design of experiments to fill gaps in knowledge.
- Maintain a laboratory notebook and other technical documents according to required guidelines.
Other
- Candidates must be actively enrolled in an accredited University for the duration of a co-op assignment pursuing a Bachelor’s or equivalent experience, Master’s, or PhD degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum GPA of 2.8 is required.
- Completion of Undergraduate Freshmen year at an accredited University is required.
- Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future
- Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills are preferred
