The Department of Pathology, Microbiology, and Immunology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center is looking to solve the problem of providing essential support and expertise to researchers and physician scientists in collecting, integrating, and analyzing data, and developing tools for the analysis and interpretation of complex high-throughput datasets.
Requirements
- Java, Python, and/or Groovy
- SQL databases such as MS SQL, Oracle, postgres and/or MySQL
- Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word
- Extensive knowledge of the clinical, educational, and research missions of an academic institution
- Practical experience in the design, development, adoption, and application of health IT in a variety of clinical and/or research environments
- Knowledge of regulatory aspects of clinical research informatics
- Able to work in Unix-based systems and Windows based systems
Responsibilities
- Provide software development, systems architecture, data analysis, and project management for the Department of Pathology, Microbiology, and Immunology's public service and translational research cores
- Help researchers collect, integrate and analyze data and develop tools for the analysis and interpretation of complex high-throughput datasets
- Establish and implement project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, adhere to high quality standards, and meet assigned expectation
- Manage resources required to successfully execute projects by defining roles and responsibilities and arranging assignments for key project participants
- Develop/define, publish, and execute project plan
- Serve as the primary point of contact for multiple projects
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, adhere to high quality standards, and meet assigned expectation
Other
- Bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics, Software Engineering, Computer Sciences, or related field
- 5 years experience in healthcare systems that includes database and systems design, implementation, upgrade, diagnosis and troubleshooting
