Veracyte is seeking to demonstrate the validity and utility of their biomarker signatures and diagnostic tests by interrogating genomic and clinical data, with the goal of improving patient care and driving the adoption of their products.

Requirements

  • PhD in statistics, biostatistics, or related statistical program with a minimum of 3 years of related experience including a strong publication record in high impact peer-reviewed journals.
  • Expert knowledge of theoretical and applied statistics is required, with an emphasis on methods appropriate for prospective and retrospective studies related to biomedical and public health sciences including survival analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated expertise in programming: experience with R statistical software language is required, including data packages
  • Experience with an array platform, NGS, or high-throughput technology.
  • Familiarity with clinical trials and knowledge in epidemiology.
  • Knowledge of FDA, CLIA or other regulatory guidelines.
  • Familiarity with biomarker research.

Responsibilities

  • Independently or under limited supervision, provide sound strategic, scientific, and statistical input to support the company’s biomarker discovery and validation work
  • Provide statistical expertise to various other teams within the company including Medical Affairs, Clinical Operation, Sales and Marketing, Lab Operations, and Regulatory Affairs
  • Lead statistical analyses for the company’s clinical evidence generation efforts, including the drafting and execution of statistical analysis plans and presentation of statistical results to both internal and external collaborators
  • Author the statistical section of study protocols and grant applications, incorporating appropriate statistical methods for study design and analysis.
  • Author statistical analysis plans for clinical studies when appropriate and lead study design efforts.
  • Author the method and result sections of scientific manuscripts
  • Take responsibility for the scientific integrity of clinical studies and the accuracy of the reported results

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are required, including the ability to explain nuanced or complicated results to non-subject area experts and able to create compelling and digestible visualizations to support analysis conclusions.
  • Passionate about the intersection of statistics and medical science and its potential applications in the diagnostics space and deep commitment to improving patient lives.
  • This is a hybrid position based in our San Diego office. Based on candidate location, we may consider (PST) remote.
