The Ohio State University is looking to solve biomedical research projects across the health sciences by hiring a Biostatistician II to support study investigators on protocol development, study design, statistical analysis plans, and interpretation of study data.
Requirements
- Considerable knowledge and proficiency in at least one statistical programming language, such as SAS, R, or Stata
- Experience in preparing grant applications and managing large datasets using SQL and similar programming languages (preferred)
- Additional coursework in epidemiology, public health, biology, or medicine (desired)
- Advanced degree in relevant field (desirable)
- 4 years of relevant experience as a biostatistician (required)
- 4-8 years of relevant experience (preferred)
- Experience with statistical analysis and data interpretation
Responsibilities
- Advise study investigators on protocol development, study design, statistical analysis plans, sample size/power calculations, and the interpretation of study data
- Conduct and interpret analyses of research data using descriptive statistics, basic inferential tests, and advanced statistical procedures
- Collaborate closely with investigators to provide guidance on biostatistical needs, including support for grant submissions, journal articles, technical reports, and abstracts
- Work with investigators to ensure the accuracy and validity of research data, resolving potential data issues as they arise
- Support dissemination efforts by compiling results, preparing reports, providing statistical summaries, and generating tables and graphics for publication
- Mentor, oversee, and train junior biostatisticians
- Attend and present at relevant scientific or statistical conferences, seminars, and workshops

- Master's degree or equivalent experience (minimum education)
- 4 years of relevant experience required, with 4-8 years preferred
- In-person work is required a minimum of 3 days per week
- Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check
