Coinbase is seeking a Blockchain Security Analyst & Researcher to identify, analyze, and mitigate critical on-chain threats, including exploits and illicit activity, to protect both Coinbase and the broader web3 community from emerging risks.
Requirements
- Deep knowledge of blockchain ecosystems and protocols
- On chain analysis expertise and investigative mindset
- Deep knowledge of blockchain tooling (such as Dune, Flipside) and tools for exploit analysis (such as Dedaub, Blocksec)
- Strong SQL skills
- Knowledge to leverage AI to 10x output
- Ability to handle highly sensitive information
- Excellent writing, analytical and communication prowess
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth investigations into illicit activity, scams, onchain exploits, and vulnerabilities
- Analyze and document exploit methodologies, attack vectors, vulnerability patterns, and incident impacts
- Develop and automate scalable methods for detecting and understanding emerging threats
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to educate and advise on evolving exploit tactics, risk landscapes, and investigative best practices
- Continuously master and share investigative tools and techniques for blockchain analytics, vulnerability analysis, and data extraction
- Monitor and research threat actors, their environments, and emerging blockchain trends
- Respond to urgent, sensitive cases with discretion and professionalism
