Bloomberg Intelligence (BI) is seeking an Associate Analyst to support the Automotive Senior Analyst in the US. The role involves providing comprehensive investment research, financial modeling, generating insights, writing, and conducting in-depth analysis of the automotive industry and its key constituents.

Requirements

  • Proven experience performing quantitative financial analysis, with knowledge of companies, industries, financial statement analysis & modeling
  • The ability to spot anomalies in financial data, think critically about what the data is telling you and identify when something doesn't align or makes sense
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience using Python and/or visualization tools (i.e Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik Sense)
  • Ability to leverage generative AI or machine learning platforms
  • Previous work experience with the Bloomberg Terminal.

Responsibilities

  • Actively contribute to the team’s daily research activities (i.e. data aggregation, financial modeling, written research, idea generation)
  • Monitor and interpret major company developments and identify macro themes and trends affecting industries
  • Handle significant data analysis and modeling responsibilities; synthesize the results, draw conclusions and develop concise narratives that communicate the story behind the data
  • Review submitted research for adherence to global quality standards
  • Work with other data and core business groups to help develop and enhance content and functionality across the terminal
  • Maintain earnings models fueled by live Bloomberg data
  • Ability to leverage generative AI or machine learning platforms

Other

  • Graduated with a Bachelor's degree, preferably with a focus or concentration in Finance or related degree
  • At least two years of financial market research or Autos-specific subject matter experience, with demonstrable research and analytical skills
  • A deep understanding of sophisticated concepts, practices and procedures of finance/accounting
  • High level of curiosity and attention to detail
  • Strong organization skills and capable of handling multiple projects; an ability to meet deadlines, logically tackle problems and set priorities
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills
  • A commitment to enhancing and developing products
  • CFA designation and/or MBA degree, and/or graduate educational experience
