Boeing is seeking a PhD student to join their Graduate Researcher Program to work on platform cyber research and software security research projects, contributing to the company's mission to connect, protect, explore, and inspire
Requirements
- Pursuing a PhD in Computer Engineering/Science, Cybersecurity, Math or related field of study
- Software, programming, AI/ML, cyber-physical, cyber security or anti-tamper research
- Undergraduate degree (MS, MSE, PhD) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computational Math, Data Science, or Electronic & Electrical Engineering, or similar degree
- Experience with agile software development
- Experience with developing software for real-time embedded systems
- Security focused coding experience
- Familiarity with cybersecurity industry
Responsibilities
- Researches and develops product security-related solutions supporting Boeing Products throughout the requirements, design, build, test, production, operations, and support lifecycle
- Coordinates with University Researchers and teams on novel technologies to prepare for transition into either future Boeing advanced research or into an operational program area
- Coordinates with governments, customers, suppliers, and industry to identify risks and improve industry and regulatory security standards and requirements for programs and interfacing systems
- Conducts research and development activities resulting in innovative solutions
- Resilient Software and Hardware Systems
- Red Teaming against UAS-type systems
- Other Novel Technologies as required
Other
- Completed the first year of PhD studies by July 2026
- Enrolled student attending a college or university with an expected graduation date on or after August 2026
- Ability to work full-time for 10-12 weeks during Summer 2026
- Ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
- Active Top Secret Clearance
