CAS is looking to solve complex business problems by leveraging vast quantities of data and building accurate mathematical models using modern artificial intelligence techniques. The data scientists will work with chemistry, life science, and materials science data sets to add business value and drive innovation.
Requirements
- Experience with Python or R, and SQL
- Experience working with chemistry, life science, and/or materials science data preferred, but not required
Responsibilities
- Develop, plan, and execute analytical projects in the chemistry, life sciences or material sciences domains
- Organize data from many different types of sources and at significantly varying scales for subsequent analysis
- Critically evaluate data for quality measures such as completeness, accuracy, and applicability, applying understanding of relevant research area nomenclature
- Solve unusual problems using a combination of appropriate statistics, machine learning, and computational methods
- Create technical reports and presentations, describing results with visualization in a manner that the client can understand
- Present research results to clients and participate in scientific conferences, peer review panels, and increase company visibility through publications

- Pursuing a degree in Cheminformatics, Bioinformatics, Material Informatics, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or Industrial Engineering (Senior status as of Fall 2026)
- Demonstrated analytical, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and planning skills
- Ability to interpret reports, analyze trends, and provide insights
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in an open, agile environment as well as independently
