AmTrust Financial Services is looking to improve its insurance operations through data-driven insights, reporting, and process optimization. The Business Data Analyst will help develop comprehensive reports, integrate third-party data, and deliver actionable insights to senior leadership to support operational excellence and strategic growth.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years experience in R/Python, including automation tasks, API requests, and data manipulation
- At least 2 years experience in SQL for data querying and database management
- Proficiency with data wrangling tools such as tidyverse or pandas
- Solid understanding of basic statistical inference and computer science concepts
- Proficiency with Excel pivot tables and formulas
- Preferred qualifications include experience with data visualization tools like ggplot2 or matplotlib, PowerBI or Tableau, predictive modeling, machine learning, AI applications, and familiarity with DevOps platforms and agile methodologies (Azure, etc.)
Responsibilities
- Design and develop reports to monitor and manage front-end pricing and submission workflows effectively
- Collaborate with product teams to create, optimize, and utilize vendor data for improved operational insights
- Engage in continuous learning to leverage advanced analytics techniques through ad hoc projects and collaborative efforts
- Provide actionable insights and detailed reports to senior leadership, managing the full lifecycle from data query to analysis and presentation
- Automate routine reporting tasks and streamline data collection processes to enhance efficiency
- Assist in the development of dashboards and visualizations to communicate complex data clearly and effectively
- Participate in cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives and operational improvements
Other
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, Business Statistics, Operational Research, or a related quantitative field
- Ability to learn quickly and apply new analytical techniques
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience working in insurance, brokerage, or customer-centric analysis roles is a plus
- Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and best practices in data analytics and insurance operations
