Lakeside Book is seeking a Business Data Analyst to compile, develop, and interpret financial data to support forecasting and modeling, and to conduct in-depth technical analysis to evaluate past and current financial performance.
Requirements
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel) and proficiency with SQL or other relevant data tools.
- Experience with Power BI.
Responsibilities
- Analyze financial reports and operating procedures; strategize improvements to business operations.
- Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations to monitor and communicate business performance.
- Test business processes and recommend improvements; identify and implement automation opportunities.
- Prepare and review month-end reports and entries as needed.
- Generate reports and conduct research as assigned.
- Write and optimize SQL queries; utilize Microsoft Excel extensively and leverage other Microsoft Office tools.
- Work with manufacturing and GSS to test and validate new products.
Other
- Work with minimal supervision, receiving guidance primarily on goals and objectives. Independently define work scope based on short- and long-term department goals.
- Coordinate with relevant teams to achieve desired business outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or data analytics within a manufacturing environment (preferred).
- Knowledge of general manufacturing operations and procedures.
- Proven ability to analyze problems and develop effective, efficient solutions.
- Proficiency in applying existing processes and procedures to questions; resourceful or able to seek guidance for non-routine problems.
- Experience collaborating with and supporting various internal customer groups.
- Excellent organizational skills with a track record of managing complex, detailed information.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to tailor communication to different audiences.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
