The Business Developer (BD) works to improve BrightView’s market position and achieve profitable financial growth. This role helps to achieve long-term organizational strategic goals, builds key customer relationships, identifies business opportunities, negotiates, and closes business deals and maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions.
Requirements
- Proficient with computer programs including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Experience with a CRM or SFA tool
- Working experience with social media
- Experience managing multiple projects and able to multi-task in a large territory
- Proven track record of sales goal attainment and pipeline management
- Excellent presentation skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to build client-centric and solution/value-based proposals
Responsibilities
- Work with prospective customers to discover their “points of pain” and develop solutions
- Accurately forecast sales deliverables and KPI’s
- Perform sales prospecting using consultative sales techniques to build long-standing business relationships; marketing; pricing
- Prepare and conduct heavy phone prospecting, sales presentations, virtual demonstrations, and handle contract negotiations with minimum supervision
- Identify customer needs and utilize solution-based selling techniques to fully demonstrate value of BrightView services
- Log activity consistently and reliably in CRM (Salesforce)
- Plan daily and hit specific activity benchmarks and close business
Other
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
- Extensive face-to-face (B2B) selling experience at the mid-to-senior levels, 3-5 years of experience
- Ability to travel by car, train, and plane
- Ability to be self-motivated and self-directed
