Citizens is looking to develop the next generations of colleagues and support innovative data & analytics initiatives across the bank by analyzing business data to uncover patterns in customer behavior and operational performance

Requirements

  • Experience working with raw and prepared datasets
  • Familiarity with tools such as Tableau, WebFocus, or Amazon QuickSight is helpful but not required
  • Introductory experience with programming or scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python & Pandas, R)
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data environments such as AWS (e.g., Redshift, SageMaker JumpStart, Athena) a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel for exploratory analysis and scenario modeling; familiarity with tools like GBM and HEART is a plus
  • Exposure to business data analysis techniques and the ability to interpret data to support business decisions
  • Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think beyond numbers and understand behavioral drivers

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business data to uncover patterns in customer behavior and operational performance
  • Interpret findings in the context of real-world impact—understanding how insights affect customers, colleagues, and the broader ecosystem
  • Measure the impact of new products and services post-release, compare back to forecast, and identify drivers of variance
  • Assist in developing insights that inform strategy and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Contribute to presentations for senior management, translating insights into strategic recommendations
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to refine questions, validate findings, and ensure insights are relevant and actionable
  • Contribute to the development and interpretation of dashboards and visualizations, ensuring insights are aligned with business goals

Other

  • Currently pursuing a graduate degree in Business Analytics, Economics, Applied Statistics, Applied Math, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or other quantitative fields
  • Expected graduation date between December 2026 and Spring 2027 for master’s students or concurrently enrolled in a PhD program
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a team environment and collaborate across diverse business units
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to convey insights to non-technical audiences
