The company is looking to solve business intelligence and data analysis problems by building and maintaining Power BI reports, dashboards, and dataset visuals, and modeling data for reporting using basic star-schema principles.
Requirements
- SQL proficiency with relational databases; ability to write selects, joins, filters, and aggregations.
- Power BI: visuals, basic modeling, basic DAX, light transformations in Power Query (M).
- Familiar with data warehousing concepts (dimensions, facts, grain, slowly changing attributes).
- Familiar with Python for basic analyses.
- Experience with code repositories (e.g., GitHub, Azure DevOps) a plus.
- Microsoft PL-300 certification (or willingness to obtain within 3 months of employment).
- Basic star-schema principles
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and dataset visuals.
- Model data for reporting using basic star-schema principles.
- Manage relationships, data types, and simple row-level security with guidance.
- Write basic DAX measures and use Power Query (M) for light transformations.
- Use our BI delivery workflow to deliver content to business units.
- Perform basic data quality checks and reconciliations.
- Document defects and mitigations and escalate when needed.
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field.
- Zero to two years experience in data analysis and business intelligence.
- Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail skills.
- Comfortable working independently and in a team.
- Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team.
