Auctane is seeking a BI Developer to build a scalable and performant data platform for ShipStation Intelligence, enabling critical insights for merchants and supporting the company's mission to help businesses meet evolving industry and customer demands.
Requirements
- Industry experience with dashboards, self-serve reporting, or embedded analytics features in B2B SaaS.
- Experience working with Looker. Tableau, Power BI, or embedded analytics platforms experience is nice to have.
- Proficiency in analyzing data with SQL or Looker to inform product decisions.
- Strong UX instincts and customer-centric mindset for building intuitive and accessible insights.
- Professional experience with supply chain, eCommerce, shipping carriers, WMS, IMS, 3PL, or dropshipping
- Familiarity with modern data platforms like Snowflake, dbt, and event instrumentation tools
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills—able to simplify complexity and inspire teams.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate on technical roadmap for ShipStation's core analytics platform: data pipelines, dashboards, visualizations, reports, KPIs, predictive insights, and the underlying data model in BigQuery/Looker.
- Define a compelling platform vision focused on scalability, reliability, data accuracy of complex shipping and business data into simple, actionable insights for merchants.
- Partner with engineering leadership and architects to align the platform roadmap with broader technical initiatives and business capabilities.
- Use Looker, SQL, and similar tools to analyze usage patterns and shape data-informed product decisions.
- Author detailed technical specifications, including data schema designs, and non-functional requirements for the engineering teams.
- Manage the platform backlog, prioritizing technical debt, infrastructure investments, performance improvements, and new platform capabilities.
- Drive the end-to-end lifecycle of platform enhancements, from architectural design through development, release, and post-launch monitoring.
