Google's Cloud Finance BI team aims to enable decision intelligence while reducing the reporting burden on analysts by building stable reporting, forecasting, simulation, and modeling assets. They control the Cloud Profit and Loss (P&L), drive modeling, forecasting, and automation efforts, and lead data science initiatives to advise on optimal headcount resource allocation and deliver accountability.
Requirements
- Experience with building and ownership of complete BI solutions including data modeling and creating insightful dashboards in tools like Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Experience in programming and SQL.
- Experience building data infrastructure and solutions (e.g., designing architecture, building big data pipelines, implementing scalable monitoring).
- Experience building Machine Learning models for forecasting or anomaly detection purposes.
- Proficiency in a programming language for data analysis and automation (e.g., Python or R).
- Extensive knowledge of key financial systems, such as Oracle and Hyperion, and experience working with a range of other business intelligence tools and platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain critical data assets for Cloud Finance, including data marts, pipelines, and dashboards.
- Build an insightful, accurate, and production-level financial reporting infrastructure.
- Develop sophisticated forecasting and what-if models using innovative Google technologies.
- Proactively automate and improve financial models and processes to surface insights at scale.
- Automate insight-gathering and deliver clear, impactful communications of complex technical analyses to executive audiences, including Finance VPs, Directors, and Chiefs of Staff.
- Build tools to automate reporting and generate insight that will allow clients to quickly and accurately see how our key business products and processes are performing.
- Experience building data infrastructure and solutions (e.g., designing architecture, building big data pipelines, implementing scalable monitoring).

- Serve as a trusted partner to Finance colleagues, supporting their processes while empowering them with new tools and upleveling their analytical capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or quantitative analysis related fields.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex findings in a concise manner to a non-technical audience.
- Previous experience managing finance systems projects, with emphasis on providing business intelligence and data driven insight through reporting, will have equipped you well for this role.
