Tire Discounters is looking to support the purchasing team in executing tactics to achieve overall strategy objectives across business categories such as store service, equipment, and contracts.
Requirements
- Knowledge and understanding of procurement principles, procedures, and best practices
- Basic understanding of contract management practices, supply chain concepts, and logistics processes
- Basic understanding of financial concepts such as cost analysis, budgeting, and profitability metrics
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Proficiency with procurement or project management software and tools is a plus
- Proficiency in procurement software, program management software, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency
Responsibilities
- Manage vendor relationships and act as escalation support for day-to-day location service needs
- Manage Capital Equipment
- Identify and implement cost savings opportunities
- Assist in reviewing and providing feedback on basic contracts
- Conduct thorough research on assigned categories to become the Subject Matter Expert
- Evaluate and assist in the performance reviews of suppliers and vendors
- Update and manage reports across multiple data sets to track performance
Other
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum one year of experience in a retail environment or purchasing function
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
