GM is looking to source Technology purchases (Software, Software as a Service, Infrastructure) on a regional and global basis by developing, negotiating, and implementing sourcing strategies.
Requirements
- Understand basic technology (licensing and Legal) concepts
- High level knowledge (or ability to learn) about items being purchased
- Knowledge of computer software (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Internet Research)
- SAP experience or ability to learn purchasing systems
- High Level knowledge about IT/technology (Software, Saas, Immerging Technologies)
Responsibilities
- Understand the IT industry and the long-term direction GM/IT is headed.
- Determine viable suppliers for technology requirements.
- Develop and manage suppliers under the guidance of Quality, Service, Technology, and Price strategies.
- Manage annual renewal cadence and deadlines.
- Negotiate price, terms, and other items to complete full contract package.
- Utilize GPSC Sourcing Process to manage Sourcing packages.
- Utilize GPSC Sourcing Process (Request for Quotation, Analysis of Quotation, Source Selection) to establish a capable/competitive supply base.
Other
- This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Cole Engineering Center Warren MI, three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business
- 2+ years relevant post-graduate work experience in purchasing, supply chain, logistics, product development, program/product management
