Intertek is seeking a Petroleum Inspector to perform essential measurement, sampling, and inspection tasks for commodity materials in the oil and gas sector, ensuring accuracy and quality in transactions.
Requirements
- Must have basic grasp of basic mathematics and work in an automated environment
- Ability to perform volume measurement, temperature measurement and sampling of commodity materials contained or conveyed in lines, shore tanks, cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships
- Ability to perform visual inspections on lines, pumps, manifolds, shore tanks, rail cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships
- Ability to complete custody transfer surveys of commodities transferred to and from rail cars, tank trucks, shore tanks, barges, and ships
- Ability to perform routine equipment calibrations, verification, and function checks
- Ability to verify and communicate the results obtained and to make the entries into the appropriate media
- Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
Responsibilities
- Perform volume measurement, temperature measurement and sampling of commodity materials contained or conveyed in shipping lines, shore tanks, cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships
- Perform visual inspections on lines, pumps, manifolds, shore tanks, rail cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships
- Complete custody transfer surveys of commodities transferred to and from rail cars, tank trucks, shore tanks, barges, and ships
- Perform routine equipment calibrations, verification, and function checks
- Communicate and coordinate with terminal, transport, and company personnel, to promote smooth exercise of duties assigned
- Verify and communicate the results obtained from inspections, and record the entries into the appropriate media, whether print or electronic required, to ensure the validity and traceability of the information

- Understand and adhere to Caleb Brett safety procedures
- Shift work, and on call hours that may include nights, weekends or holidays
- Cannot have a fear of heights
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs for shore tanks
- Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record (required)
