American Express is looking for Software Engineering Interns to join their 10-week Summer Internship Program to work on real, on-the-job projects and help define the future of the company
Requirements
- Familiarity with software development, design or creative technical projects at an entry level
- Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Familiarity in any of the following languages or applications: Java, JavaScript, C, Python, Rust, Go, Kotlin, Node.js

Responsibilities
- Discover and explore new technologies to solve real-work business challenges
- Contribute to agile scrum team by developing and testing applications
- Gain hands-on experience writing code, conducting code reviews, and creating unit tests
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Senior Engineers, and Application Architects to design and prioritize features
- Engage in social events, community service projects, and collaborative initiatives with fellow interns
Other
- Bachelor’s degree candidates with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technical field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate work to team members and partners
- Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required
