The Federal Home Loan Banks needs to price and hedge Advances for the Sales team, and negotiate and execute debt and derivative transactions to fund the Bank. The role will plan and execute funding and hedging strategies to generate low-cost funding.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Python, Microsoft Excel as well as at least one major fixed-income analytic system (e.g., Findur, Principia).
  • Experience using Bloomberg is preferred.
  • Knowledge of hedge accounting is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of the capital markets as well as understanding of derivative operations is necessary

Responsibilities

  • Uses analytical tools and market price discovery to price structured Advances.
  • Provides indicative pricing to Member Sales.
  • Negotiates and executes derivative transactions to support structured advances.
  • Plans, negotiates, and executes funding and hedging transactions with the Office of Finance, debt underwriters, and derivative counterparties to fund and hedge the Bank.
  • Sets daily Advance rates using the Bank’s internal applications, Bloomberg, and data from the Office of Finance and other market sources.
  • Participates in managing the Banks Daily Balance Sheet Liquidity position by issuing debt and monitoring Advances and Investments transactions so that all cash flow movements are captured accurately and timely.
  • Analyzes risk positions, formulates strategies, and executes derivative and capital market transactions to fund and hedge mortgage purchases.

  • Must possess strong communication and relationship building skills for effective interaction with trading counterparties.
  • A bachelor’s degree and two to four years’ experience in trading financial products.
  • This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Atlanta, GA office.
