Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Capital Project Management Intern to assist project management and project controls teams in the execution of power-related engineering and construction projects.
Requirements
- Working knowledge in MS Office tools, with emphasis on MS Excel in creating and maintaining detailed, interactive spreadsheets, workbooks, and databases
- Prior related internship, co-op, or work experience, which includes project controls, project planning, project scheduling, and earned value performance
Responsibilities
- Assist project managers with meeting facilitation, including meeting agendas, meetings notes, and action item list tracking
- Support project managers with stakeholder coordination, including maintenance of contact lists, communication plans, email distribution lists, and MS Teams channel organization
- Support project scheduling, cost tracking, progress monitoring, and project / portfolio reporting for power-related engineering and construction projects
- Manage RFI and Submittal processing including creating a tracking log and facilitating communication between the contractor and client review team
- Participate in project site visits/walk downs and safety briefings
- Support material reservations/orders and site logistics including entering reservations, creating a log, and monitoring long lead time items
- Assist with change management including entering new items in the log and updating changes in status
Other
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree with emphasis in Engineering, Construction Management, or other relevant degree
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Self-Starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction
- Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to interact and multitask with project team members, clients, and vendors of varying position levels
