The Career STEP program, funded by MDHS TANF, aims to strengthen the workforce in the Twin Districts Workforce Development Area (TDWDA) by increasing the employability and placement opportunities of jobseekers, while simultaneously cultivating business relationships and providing employers with skilled applicants. This position is crucial for achieving and tracking program goals and objectives.
Requirements
- Ability to accurately track program goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Provide career counseling to eligible participants.
- Deliver job readiness training to eligible participants.
- Offer mentoring to eligible participants.
- Provide all other necessary pre-employment skills to eligible participants.
- Increase the employability of jobseekers.
- Increase the placement opportunities of jobseekers.
- Cultivate business relationships.
Other
- Provide services to eligible participants ages 16 through 59.
- Services will be provided to eligible residents of the following counties: Clarke, Covington, Forrest, George, Greene, Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, Jasper, Jefferson Davis, Jones, Kemper, Lamar, Lauderdale, Leake, Marion, Neshoba, Newton, Pearl River, Perry, Scott, Smith, Stone, and Wayne.
- Office will be located in the SMPDD building in Gulfport, MS.
