Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Project Engineer to lead an Integrated Product Team (IPT) supporting the Mature Commercial Engines (MCE) Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) in Compression Systems Engineering (CSE). The role involves executing tasks and investigations for static and composite hardware across multiple operational engine programs, aiming to improve product performance and address project problems.
Requirements
- Experience with metal alloy and composite gas turbine engine static hardware, including fan containment cases, fan exit cases and guide vanes, intermediate cases, etc.
- Working proficiency with MS Office, Teamcenter, SAP, Smartsheet, MS Project or other scheduling software
- Experience with Agile and supporting tools such as Jira
- Thorough understanding of continuous improvement principles (e.g. Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE), Quality Control Process Charts (QCPC)
- Proficiency in use of program/project management tools (e.g. Systems Applications and Products (SAP), Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Teamcenter)
- Aerospace/ jet engine industry experience, previous gas turbine compressor experience and design development experience is highly desirable
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and lead a cross-functional IPT to plan and execute tasks to technical, customer requirements to support MCE programs, including the processing of Class 1 & 2 Engineering Changes
- Work closely with team members and authorities and recommend product improvements, identify and address project problems, analyze data gathered, develop solutions and recommendations to solve problems, meet deadlines and optimize performance
- Perform risk assessments and develop risk mitigation plans as well as actively participate in initiatives for continuous improvement
- Communicate status and technical content to CIPT, Module Center and Program Leadership, and external customers.
- Work with the IPT, Sr. IPTL, and CIPT Leadership to plan, acquire, and manage appropriate budgets for specific IPT tasks.
- Support external customers and overhaul shops with timely responses to field requests and Eaglenet case dispositions
- Support the PW Safety Management System through facilitation of detailed investigations of field event hardware, proactive engagement in the development of Safety Risk Assessments, and active involvement in quarterly Program safety reviews and required Safety Board presentations
