Requirements
- Currently registered as a pharmacy technician by the AL Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP)
- Currently certified as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPht or ExCPT) by Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
- At least 1 year of experience working in an IV Room
- At least 2 years of experience with preparing and compounding sterile, hazardous, and non-hazardous drug products
- Knowledge of USP and ALBOP requirements
- Experience with inventory control
- Experience with equipment maintenance and sanitation
Responsibilities
- Assisting pharmacists and other pharmacy techs with preparation, compounding, and disposal of sterile, hazardous, and nonhazardous drug products in compliance with USP and ALBOP requirements, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Performing daily, weekly, monthly, and terminal cleaning, sanitation, monitoring, testing, and maintenance of equipment and rooms, including maintaining sterile compounding logs.
- Assistance with maintaining inventory control, ensuring that patient care is not adversely affected.
- Preparing sterile compounded products in compliance with USP and ALBOP requirements
- Performing all cleaning and proper techniques required to be USP compliant
- Compounding and disposal of sterile, hazardous, and nonhazardous drug products
- Maintaining sterile compounding logs

- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to work in an office setting, with trips to a stockroom
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs., and periods of sitting, standing, walking, and stooping
- Ability to work in a high-noise environment
- Discretion when handling private information or personal data
