Jacobs is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern (Geotechnical Design) to join their Transportation team to work on projects that bring innovative solutions to their transportation clients' challenges locally and worldwide, and to gain hands-on experience in large-scale infrastructure projects and apply academic knowledge to real-world civil engineering challenges.
Requirements
- In pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
- Completed coursework related to geotechnical engineering
- Familiarity with geotechnical analysis software
Responsibilities
- Assist in analyzing field logs and lab data to support geotechnical design
- Gain insight into advanced software tools such as Settle3D, Slide, LPILE, DeepXcav, FLAC, PLAXIS, and MathCAD for engineering analysis.
- Support the development of construction plans and technical specifications for geotechnical design
- Help prepare technical reports and design documentation
- Participate in field assignments: soil and rock borings, CPT soundings, geophysical testing, instrumentation installation, and construction inspection

- 3.0 GPA
- Must be at least a rising Junior
- A previous internship related to your field of study
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future
