GAI Consultants is seeking a Civil Engineering Manager 1 to provide leadership and direction to the civil engineering discipline, including delegation of tasks, coordination with other engineering disciplines, and management of projects to ensure quality and budget adherence.
Requirements
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) License, reciprocity in multiple states.
- B.S. or M.S. Engineering, master’s degree or Equivalent Experience Preferred.
- 12+ years of related experience.
- Ability to work independently and direct/oversee engineering and drafting staff on a project basis.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work at heights over 25 ft.
- Must be able to wear and work in Personal Protection Equipment.
- Must be capable of leading, and training staff to perform field visits to client sites to obtain photos, physical measurements, view site conditions, inspect E&S controls, perform infiltration testing.
Responsibilities
- Staff management duties include planning, mentoring, and coaching junior level engineering drafting and field staff.
- Task management duties include staff planning, budget/schedule management, scope change management, quality assurance/peer reviews, report writing, staff mentorship, and client coordination.
- Draft site reports, design narratives, meeting minutes, and project memorandums.
- Collaborate with other engineering leads for resource and schedule management, performance of QA/QC peer reviews, and staff mentorship.
- Independently conduct field condition assessments.
- Performance of bid and construction phase services including responding to bidder questions, responding to Contractor Requests for Information, and submittal reviews, site visits, and verifying change order documentation.
- Perform projects that are managed by other engineering leads.

- Bachelors or better in Engineering or related field.
- Driver's License.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work at heights over 25 ft.
