Geosyntec is looking for a Civil/Environmental/Geotechnical Engineering Intern to apply academic knowledge to real-world situations and learn business skills for a consulting career.
Requirements
Experience with ArcView, CADD, GIS, and/or Microsoft Office. (preferred)
Outstanding academic credentials and exceptional interpersonal, technical writing, oral and written communication and problem-solving skills. (required)
Responsibilities
Assist with engineering calculations using computer-based technical tools;
Technical writing of reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals;
Data input and analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures;
Follow instructions and interact with engineers, geologists, office administrative staff, CADD operators (draftsmen), contractors and construction personnel;
Potential for fieldwork such as soil and groundwater sampling, stormwater inspections, and drilling and contractor oversight.
Other
Currently registered in a Bachelor’s or Master’s university degree program in a relevant engineering discipline. (required)
Degree focus area in civil, geotechnical, or environmental engineering. (preferred)
Valid U.S. driver’s license, reliable transportation, and satisfactory driving record for business travel to project sites. (required)
Candidates must currently hold and maintain valid U.S. work authorization. New H-1B visa lottery and employment based green card sponsorship are not available for this position.
The position is part-time (20 hours/week) for approximately 6 months.
Preferred candidates would have the ability to return to the position for up to two additional semester rotations during their undergraduate or graduate studies.
Candidates are responsible for coordinating their own transportation to and from the office.
