SMX is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join their team to support a Washington DC based team with data transformation, loading, cleansing, and environment management, aiming to produce creative solutions, build data pipelines, and perform dimensional data modeling and data analytics.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with AWS administration, Redshift, and SQL
- Proficient in AWS Cloud Technologies like EC2, S3, Redshift, lambda, etc.
- Experience with administration of users, roles, security policies, etc. on AWS including via federated identity.
- Experience with RedShift administration and management
- Solid command of SQL syntax and use cases
- Bash and/or Powershell scripting
- Ability to read and comprehend Python code
Responsibilities
- Technical support with AWS core services and data engineering products
- Deployment of new data pipelines, update code via pipelines, and maintain ETL components.
- Ability to develop scripted solutions for deploying ETL and data pipelines using Python, powershell, bash shell, Terraform and any other automation tools as the client’s needs arise.

- Ability to communicate with data engineering, data scientists and architects clearly both verbally and in written documentation.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Science, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Business Analytics disciplines, or related area
- Clearance Requirement: Must be able to obtain Public Trust agency clearance
- Certification related to any of the AWS technologies specified above
- Understanding of DevOps practices
