Thomas Jefferson University is seeking a Clinical Engineering Manager to manage, direct, document, and organize Clinical Engineering, corrective maintenance, preventative maintenance, projects, and day-to-day operational duties for assigned hospitals/sites and resources.
Requirements
- Knowledge of equipment management standards and regulations
- Working knowledge of both clinical applications and equipment service procedures for a wide range of equipment modalities
- Proficiency in performing database management functions
- Knowledge of state-of-the-art electronic and test equipment, quality assurance procedures, and preventive maintenance procedures
- Knowledge of source, use, and applications of alternative parts providers as related to electronic or electromechanical equipment
- Knowledge of computer software-based work order tracking systems
- Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) and/or Military (DoD) Biomedical Equipment Technician certification
Responsibilities
- Manages day-to-day operations and Biomedical/Imaging staff in support of hospital/site operations, support, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Assesses the impact of scheduled preventive maintenance frequency and content on unscheduled equipment failures and recommends/implement changes.
- Monitor and assist with service, repair, and maintenance on clinical equipment and/or assigned equipment/devices/systems.
- Order and/or locate parts as needed, verifying prices and if alternate sources are available and appropriate.
- Monitor vendor and in-house response times to maximize equipment uptime and distribute workloads based on preventive and corrective maintenance service needs.
- Determines training needs for in-house service staff and recommends/implements arrangements to test equipment and tools.
- Participates in all projects related to equipment selection, acquisition, acceptance testing, installation, and user training for equipment used or supported within assigned areas.
Other
- High School Diploma. Associates Degree preferred.
- Minimum 8-10 years progressive experience servicing and supporting a wide range of clinical equipment and related systems
- Ability to travel to additional hospitals/sites and periodically conform to a flexible work schedule on an as-needed basis
- Ability to work well in a team environment and to be self-motivated and self-disciplined
- Effectively deals with multiple and changing priorities
