Washington University in St. Louis is looking to provide experience in clinical research through a 12-month apprenticeship and experiential learning opportunity to raise interest for and strengthen candidacy for full-time Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) careers.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of computer programs and systems.
- Associate degree or combination of education and experience may substitute for minimum education.
- Relevant Experience (3 Years)
- Prior work experience, preferably in clinical research or in the medical support environment, is highly preferred but not required.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Organizational skills.
- Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Implements and manages all phases of study/protocol; ensures compliance with protocol guidelines and requirements of regulatory agencies; establishes record-keeping systems; makes assessments and determinations of participants’ progress in the study; analyzes, investigates and reports adverse events;
- Recruits and enrolls study participants; makes and/or participates in making determinations of eligibility based on diagnostic criteria and/or observations/analysis in participant interviews;
- Ensures timely completion of all protocol requirements (assessment, lab testing, procedures and treatments) to include scheduling and facilitating the patient’s timely completion of protocol requirements;
- Evaluates and interprets collected clinical data in conjunction with PI as appropriate; prepares oral or written presentations or reports and analyses setting forth progress trends and provides recommendations or conclusions of the same.
- Collects clinical data under clinical research protocols.
- Performs other duties incidental to the work described herein.
- Acts as a liaison with the school, sponsoring agency, hospital partners, community and the study participants;
Other
- Associate degree or 3 years' relevant work experience. A combination of relevant work experience and education equaling 3 years may satisfy this requirement.
- Driver's license is not required for this position.
