The Lead Engineer position at KeyBank is looking to solve the business problem of leading and influencing the design, delivery, automation, and support of infrastructure services and solutions, while also improving efficiency and reducing expenses.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application or operation.
  • Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.
  • Knowledge of availability management; ability to utilize strategies and tools to ensure the timely availability of business data and applications.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies and the agile development lifecycle; ability to utilize formal agile methodologies, disciplines, practices and techniques for the delivery of new and enhanced applications.
  • Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) systems; ability to utilize a variety of system tools, guarantee service availability, and ensure optimal IT system performance.
  • Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) standards and policies; ability to utilize a variety of administrative skill sets and technical knowledge to manage organizational IT policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies; ability to design, apply and evaluate new information technologies for business environments.

Responsibilities

  • Independently builds, maintains, and documents infrastructure components for work assigned; performs reviews for all levels of engineer.
  • Designs solutions for the overall health, performance, and availability and actively works resolution of system and client experience impacts for one or more environments, applications, or platforms.
  • Assigns work, mentors, and trains junior engineers; welcomes and encourages upward feedback and perspectives from all levels of engineer.
  • Advocates for new technology and improvements that will reduce expenses and/or improve efficiency; works cross-functionally to find synergies.
  • Recommends and influences IT standards (e.g. info security, audit, compliance, etc.).
  • Assists in the development of strategies for building and maintaining new and existing solutions and capabilities.
  • Creates technical documentation, specifications, and project artifacts to deliver: mature monitoring, improved resiliency, and high availability.

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Position may require afterhours/on-call work, as needed and directed by management
  • Complies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key’s clients and Key.
  • General Office - Prolonged sitting, ability to communicate face to face in person or on the phone with teammates and clients, frequent use of PC/laptop, occasional lifting/pushing/pulling of backpacks, computer bags up to 10 lbs.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
