Wieland is looking to hire a CMM Programmer to operate and generate programs for coordinate measuring equipment to execute measurement and analysis of manufactured or supplied components, and to provide direction on potential root causes of failure or out-of-specification parts to foster continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 5+ years-experience and/or training with CMM programming in DMIS language (Open DMIS preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be proficient in GD&T and have an understanding of SPC.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and an understanding of the Minitab statistical software.
  • Proven ability to generate charts and graphs to depict data and trends in an easy-to-use format in popular spreadsheet software such as MS Excel.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, and PPM.
  • Ability to convert units from metric to imperial and vice-versa and able to convert one unit to another.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Responsibilities

  • Creates, maintains, and validates Zeiss CMM programs and Faro Arm equipment used for the measurements of manufactured and supplied parts.
  • Performs ISIRs; verification of supplied materials, annual layout, and PPAP.
  • Performs detailed analysis of parts to troubleshoot failure modes.
  • Performs first article inspection(s) of machined components.
  • Reads and interprets prints to inspect parts and offers suggestions to improve prints in terms of dimensions and tolerance specifications.
  • Creates written procedures/instructions in accordance with AS9100 quality system.
  • Completes capability studies with laboratory equipment.
