Volvo Group Trucks Operations (GTO) is seeking a Lean Business Developer Co-Op to improve internal processes within their Chicago Distribution Center (DC) by structuring ways to collect, process, and analyze data to support operations. The role aims to optimize service parts availability and distribution to ensure customer uptime, focusing on delivery precision, quality, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Fully proficient in MS ACCESS and MS EXCEL including VBA
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Responsibilities
- Develop ways to extract information from current systems to support operational decisions
- Optimize and develop the MS ACCESS database, or suggest technology that may better serve the needs of the warehouse
- Create and optimize MS EXCEL templates supporting the operational needs
- Support with process data analysis
- Communicate with different stakeholders to support the implementations
- Work together with the operation to Implement Ideas
- Work with Lean Manufacturing concepts such as 5S, Standardized Work, Visual Management, PDCA, among others
Other
- Applicants must be currently enrolled in academic courses and pursuing a degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology at an accredited school and must have completed 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies prior to the start of the internship.
- Must be in good academic standing with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.75
- Co-ops can work up to 40 hours per week and are NOT enrolled in academic courses during their co-op period.
