Arconic is seeking a Mechanical Engineering co-op associate to work on dynamic and innovative projects, providing mentoring and professional development opportunities to advance the automotive, aerospace, commercial transportation, industrial, packaging and building and construction markets.
Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering
- Must be finished with sophomore year of schooling at the start of the first rotation
- This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. §730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Authorizations from the relevant government agency may be required to meet export control compliance requirements.
- 3.0 GPA and above (preferred)
- Prior work experience (preferred)
- Involvement in at least 1 extracurricular activity (preferred)
Responsibilities
- An Mechanical Engineering co-op associate will be assigned a manager and a mentor for each rotation.
- The student will work at times in an office environment and other times in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures.
- The associate will work with other Engineering employees working on projects that have a real impact to the business.
- Other day-to-day aspects of work at our facility may include assisting with maintenance, repairs, project planning, and other tasks as assigned.

- Must be a student at the Iowa State University that qualifies for their co-op status
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Must stay in good standing as a co-op student with Iowa State University to maintain co-op status with Arconic
