The Coated Products area of Big River Steel facility needs an industrial electrician to maintain and troubleshoot a wide range of electrical equipment.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated proficiency using precision measuring instruments
  • Experienced with mobile equipment. ( Rough Terrain, Man Lift, Fork Lift Carry Deck or Broaderson)
  • Basic computer skills; MS Excel, Word, and Outlook is a plus
  • Read Electrical drawings, blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
  • Knowledgeable of programming and troubleshooting logic to include ladder logic, function block programming
  • Knowledgeable of VFDs, principle design, programming, and trouble shooting skills; I.O. systems and design layout; three-phase motors and ability to troubleshoot; network infrastructure; basic mechanical components in a mill; basic Hydraulic systems, how they operate and design layout

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on complex electrical equipment, including PLCs, control circuits, communication systems, I/O field devices, and VFD drives/motors
  • Install or modify electrical equipment following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, and other specifications with minimal instruction after general assignment
  • Use Electrical Ingenuity and Work directly with all mechanics and operations personnel in a fast-paced environment to help develop a safety focused and productive Coated Products Team.
  • Support maintenance teammates to help maintain a positive and efficient work environment focused on safety and reliability.
