Kyndryl is looking to support development on the Department of Labor's existing Unemployment and Disability Insurance software system by hiring a COBOL Mainframe Application Developer
Requirements
- IMS DB and DB2 – extensive experience required programming with these
- CA7 – extensive experience required working with scheduler
- At least 15 years of COBOL programming; proficiency in COBOL programming in an IBM z/OS mainframe environment
- Expertise in Job Control Language (JCL)
- Experience in mainframe technologies, including IMS DB, CA7, DB2/SQL, JCL, MQ, VSAM, CICS, TSO, FTP
- Production Support experience including break-fix support and permanent fixes in production
- Familiarity with software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall)
Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, develop, test and deploy code on a mainframe platform (z/OS) based upon user specifications
- Analyze user requirements and translate them into technical specifications and programming solutions
- Provide technical assistance in solving software problems
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all development processes, including specifications, design, and user guides
- Assist in training and mentoring junior developers, sharing knowledge and best practices in mainframe development
- Ensure proper change management for all requested changes, fixes and enhancements to production applications
- 24 X 7 on-call support rotation is required
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work/practical experience)
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States, without the need for Visa sponsorship, both now and in the future
- Night and weekend Production/QA Support
- 24 X 7 on-call support rotation is required
- Must be willing to work at a client, customer, or partner location and comply with their COVID-19 vaccination policies
