The Office of Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) needs support for its Health and Safety operations to ensure regulatory compliance, manage safety data, and coordinate safety initiatives.
Requirements
- Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school.
- Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or closely related field, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study.
- Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or other area relevant to the information technology project(s) assigned, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study.
Responsibilities
- Assist with compiling and updating training records and safety data.
- Conduct research on safety regulations, industry best practices, and inspection protocols.
- Support the implementation of the agency’s safety programs.
- Assist with and participate in laboratory and facility inspections, including scheduling, documentation, and follow-up on corrective actions.
- Assist with respiratory fit testing, including scheduling, equipment preparation, and documentation.
- Assist with logistics for safety-related events, including set-up and tracking attendance.
- Provide administrative support including data entry, document organization, and internal communications.

- Part-time job type.
- Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school.
- Maximum tenure for all Assignment Levels in the title of College Aide is 6 years.
- No student shall be employed more than half-time in any week in which classes in which the student is enrolled are in session.
- New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment.
