The College of Southern Nevada's Financial Aid Office needs a Student IT Assistant to provide technical and administrative assistance to the Office of Financial Aid’s Information Technology (OFA IT) team, supporting daily OFA IT processes and maintaining strict privacy protocols and data protection standards.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled student in the Computer Science (CS) or Computing and Information Technology (CIT) majors, or the Computing and Engineering Technologies Area of Study
  • Completion of at least one semester of project management, database, or computer programming coursework
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and successfully complete federal and state data security training
  • Computing and Information Technology: Software-Database, AAS
  • Computing and Information Technology: Software-Programming, AAS
  • Computer Science, AA
  • Experience with Windows PowerShell, using Python for data visualization, and/or automatic data collection using crawlers/scrapers

Responsibilities

  • Document support tickets and resolutions in our ticketing system
  • Data & Systems Support
  • Generate routine reports using pre-configured templates and stored procedures/views
  • Assist with editing and developing content for documentation
  • Assist with organizing the OFA IT data repository
  • Execute data entry tasks using approved software and processes, e.g. Hyland OnBase and Microsoft Office with SharePoint
  • Create and update user documentation and training materials

  • Must be a currently enrolled student
  • Must have received the Student Employment Award
  • Must be able to work up to 20 hours per week
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality
  • Preference given to Federal Work-Study students who intend to work Fall and Spring terms
