Comcast's Technology & Product organization needs to enhance its cybersecurity posture by applying data science and artificial intelligence to evaluate security events, improve data pipelines, and communicate findings to safeguard its products and systems.

Requirements

  • Foundational knowledge of statistics, data analysis, and machine learning.
  • Programming experience with Python (libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn), SQL, Databricks, and JavaScript or shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity fundamentals, such as security events, threats, or incident response workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze Security Events
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret large sets of security-related data to identify trends, anomalies, and patterns.
  • Assess and validate detected security incidents using statistical and machine learning techniques.
  • Evaluate the quality and completeness of current security data sources; recommend and help execute improvements to data collection and enrichment processes.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to enhance data pipelines and integrate new telemetry or threat signals.
  • Produce clear, actionable reports summarizing analyzed data, security event trends, and recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Participate in the development and validation of AI/machine learning models for threat detection, event correlation, and security automation.

Other

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a United States-based college or university
  • Rising Junior or Rising Senior only (must have a graduation date between Winter 2026- Spring 2028)
  • Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship (meaning, student must be returning to school for Fall 2026 semester before graduating)
  • Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program starting June 1, 2026, through August 14, 2026
  • Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs
