North Wind Services is seeking an AI Policy Analyst to develop and implement strategies for institutional policy performance oversight, focusing on leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) to streamline documents and support regulatory compliance for the Department of Energy.
Requirements
- Experience leveraging AI or advanced analytics tools for document analysis, consolidation, or regulatory compliance is highly desirable.
- Ability to review and understand end-to-end work processes and experience implementing improvements, workflow and streamlining.
- Experience developing integrated business analyses and projections for strategic decisions.
- Advanced knowledge of governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC) to ensure principled performance.
- Advanced knowledge of continuous improvement and system thinking principles and methods.
- Significant experience as a business analyst, designing and implementing improvements and experience using project management methodologies, practices, tools and techniques.
- Experience with managing key Quality Management System processes (e.g., Document Control, Change Management).
Responsibilities
- Leverage AI to systematically analyze, compare, and integrate multiple related policies into single, comprehensive policy documents.
- Use AI tools to identify duplicative language, eliminate redundancies, resolve conflicts, and ensure consistency across institutional policies.
- Apply AI for institutional regulatory compliance review and requirement flow-down, ensuring consolidated policies meet all relevant external and internal requirements.
- Use lean, design, & systems thinking, learning organization constructs, agile principles, and other problem-solving methods to streamline institutional policies and procedures management.
- Assess and design strategies for policies flow-down to ensure vertical and horizontal integration of high-level documents to improve governance effectiveness.
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct user acceptance testing of policy and requirements management GRC systems and tools.
- Recommend new IT systems and functional improvements to existing IT systems to Information Technology Partners to continuously improve policy and requirements management systems and processes.

- Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy.
- Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
- Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline, or the equivalent combination of education and significant related experience.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills necessary to effectively collaborate in a team environment and present and explain information and provide advice to management, regulators, reviewers, and stakeholders.
- Effective interpersonal skills and abilities to partner with and influence internal and external customers to build trust-based relationships.
